Estimates, not diagnoses
Our calculators use published veterinary formulas and averages. Real animals vary: two dogs of the same weight can need noticeably different amounts of food, and breed averages can't predict an individual puppy's adult size exactly. Treat every number as a starting point to discuss with your vet.
Toxicity tools
Our toxicity calculators show the dose your pet may have received and the risk band it falls into. They never tell you to treat at home, never suggest making a pet vomit, and never give doses of human medicine. A low-risk result still means calling your vet or the Animal PoisonLine.
No human medicines
We will never publish doses of human medicines for animals. Many are toxic to pets, and the correct veterinary dose depends on your pet's weight, age, kidney and liver function and other medicines.
